Abstract

Dr. Ishaq Wardag’s poetry collection “Sheher Mein Gaon Ke Parinday” is regarded as a trendsetting anthology due to its unique style and intellectual diversity. The distinguished features of Dr. Wardag’s poetry include the impact of terrorism and 9/11, modernism, psychological perspectives, a new concept of love, Sufism, nostalgia, urban and rural civilization, psychological issues, philosophy of self and existence, magical realism, metaphysical approach, political consciousness, fear, skepticism, loneliness, temporality, the concept of death, the problem of fate and predestination, futility, existentialism, ambiguity, magical realism, and symbolism.He has transformed the temperament of Urdu poetry in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by introducing freshness in diction, sensibilities, and style, creating a new tradition of poetic innovation. This research study provides an analytical examination of Dr. Wardag’s poetry collection “Sheher Mein Gaon Ke Parinday”. The objectives of this study are: What are the primary and secondary themes of the collection? What is Dr. Wardag’s perspective on various aspects of life? And to what extent are elements of humanism present in the collection?To achieve these objectives, a standard research methodology was employed. The study analyzed the themes of humanism, both primary and secondary, in Dr. Wardag’s poetry, along with his perspective on different aspects of life. Selected verses that focus on humanism have been presented as examples within the study. The research begins with a definition of humanism to clarify the subject, followed by an examination of the poems that address humanistic themes.Dr. Ishaq Wardag’s poetry collection “Sheher Mein Gaon Ke Parinday” is a noteworthy contribution to the world of Urdu poetry.
