  • Institutional Repository: The journal will deposit its published content in its own institutional repository or in collaboration with recognized repositories.
  • Digital Object Identifier (DOI): Every article published in the journal is assigned a DOI to ensure persistent, stable access and citation over time.

Urdu Research Journal: ارمغانِ سرحد is an open-access journal, meaning that all published content is freely available to readers. To ensure broad accessibility:

  • Full-Text Availability: All published articles are freely available online in full-text format on the journal’s website. Authors can also upload their work to personal or institutional websites in compliance with the copyright and licensing policies.
  • Archiving on Trusted Platforms: The journal may use well-known academic platforms, such as Google Scholar, ResearchGate, or other open-access databases, to further preserve and disseminate articles.

3. Preservation in External Repositories

To ensure that content is safeguarded and remains accessible over time, the journal uses external, reputable digital repositories. These repositories help protect the journal’s content against potential data loss due to technical failures or changes in the journal's online platform.

  • Public and Private Repositories: Articles are archived in trusted national or international academic repositories, such as:
    • The Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
    • PubMed Central (for health-related articles).
    • Other repositories as necessary for specific disciplines.

4. Backup and Redundancy

The journal maintains a robust backup system for all its published content. Multiple copies of each article are stored securely in different locations, ensuring redundancy in case of technical issues.

  • Backup Frequency: Regular backups are taken for all published content to ensure that no data is lost in the event of system failures.

5. Retention Period

The journal ensures the long-term availability of all published articles. The retention period for archived content is indefinite; the goal is to make the articles available permanently.

  • Permanent Access: All articles will remain accessible as long as the archiving systems and repositories are operational.

6. Policy for Article Retraction or Correction

In cases where an article is retracted or corrected post-publication:

  • Retracted Articles: If an article is retracted, a retraction notice will be published in place of the original article to maintain transparency.
  • Correction of Errors: If an article contains significant errors, a correction notice will be published along with the updated version of the article.
  • Permanent Availability of Notices: Retraction and correction notices will also be preserved in the archives to ensure that the academic record remains accurate.

7. Preservation of Supplementary Materials

Any supplementary materials associated with the published articles (such as datasets, appendices, or additional figures) will also be archived to maintain the integrity and comprehensiveness of the publication.

  • Supplementary Materials Availability: These materials will be made accessible alongside the main article in the digital archives.
