Publication Ethics for Urdu Research Journal: ارمغانِ سرحد
Armaghan-e-Sarhad (ارمغانِ سرحد) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics, academic integrity, and responsible research practices. The journal follows the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and expects all authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher to follow internationally recognized ethical standards throughout the publication process.

Responsibilities of Authors
Authors submitting manuscripts to Armaghan-e-Sarhad must ensure that their research and publication practices comply with ethical standards.
Originality and Plagiarism
- Authors must submit original research that has not been published previously.
- All sources, ideas, data, images, and text obtained from other works must be properly cited and acknowledged.
- Plagiarism, duplicate publication, and inappropriate reuse of previously published material are strictly prohibited.
Authorship and Contribution
- Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the research.
- All listed authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission.
- The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the journal and ensuring that all authors approve the submission.
Data Accuracy and Research Integrity
- Authors must present accurate, reliable, and original research findings.
- Fabrication, falsification, manipulation, or misleading presentation of data is considered unethical.
- Authors must provide clarification or supporting information if requested by the editorial team.
Ethical Approval and Research Compliance
- Authors must ensure that research involving humans, animals, or sensitive data complies with relevant ethical standards.
- Necessary ethical approvals and permissions must be obtained where applicable.
- Authors must disclose funding sources and any potential conflicts of interest.
Multiple Submission and Duplicate Publication
- Manuscripts submitted to Armaghan-e-Sarhad must not be under review by another journal at the same time.
- Articles should not be published elsewhere in the same or substantially similar form.
Responsibilities of Editors
Editors of Armaghan-e-Sarhad are responsible for maintaining fairness, transparency, and academic quality.
Editors must:
- Evaluate manuscripts based on academic quality, originality, relevance, and contribution without discrimination.
- Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and author information.
- Ensure that appropriate peer review processes are followed.
- Make publication decisions based on scholarly merit and reviewer recommendations.
- Manage conflicts of interest and avoid handling manuscripts where personal or professional conflicts exist.
- Investigate allegations of research misconduct according to COPE guidelines.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers play an essential role in maintaining the quality and integrity of published research.
Reviewers must:
- Treat all manuscripts as confidential documents.
- Provide objective, constructive, and unbiased evaluations.
- Identify errors, ethical concerns, plagiarism, or possible misconduct.
- Avoid using unpublished information from manuscripts for personal or professional advantage.
- Declare any conflicts of interest before accepting a review assignment.
- Complete reviews within the agreed timeframe.
Publisher Responsibilities
The publisher of Armaghan-e-Sarhad ensures that:
- The journal follows transparent and ethical publishing practices.
- Editorial independence is maintained.
- Publication misconduct cases are investigated fairly and confidentially.
- Corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions are issued when necessary.
- The integrity of the scholarly record is protected.
Handling Research Misconduct and Ethical Complaints
The journal takes all allegations of ethical misconduct seriously. Complaints related to plagiarism, authorship disputes, data manipulation, conflicts of interest, or other ethical issues will be handled according to COPE recommendations.
The investigation process may include:

Correction and Retraction Policy
If significant errors, ethical violations, or research misconduct are identified after publication, the journal may take appropriate action:
- Publish a correction notice for minor errors that do not affect the validity of the research.
- Publish an expression of concern when an investigation is ongoing.
- Retract articles involving serious misconduct, plagiarism, fabricated data, or unreliable findings.
Retraction notices will remain permanently linked to the original article to maintain transparency and preserve the integrity of the academic record.
